I was born 17. August 1984 at the in Gjøvik, Oppland. The first years of my life I lived at a small farm at the countryside of Norway. At an early age my skiing career started with cross country skiing at the farms field. I soon realized that the fun for me was to ski down the hill, not to hike up. My father (Bjørn) was also a skiracer in his time, and on occasions my family started to travel to the nearest ski resorts in the weekends and hoidays, I loved it!

At the age of 7 me and my family moved to the small town called Gjøvik. About 120km north of Oslo. We moved in to a house right next to the local ski hill Hovedebakken. The hill has only one lift and a 300meter long skitrack. For me this was a dream come true, I could now go skiing whenever I wanted! For the winters to come I more or less lived in that hill.

I was lucky that my father (Bjørn) also sheared my passion for skiing. He has always been my coach, and as I grew older and better he eventually became educated on the highest level as a coach in Norway. I have everything to thank him for!

At the age of 15 I was ready to take my skiing to the next level and decided to join the ski academy at NTG Geilo. Geilo is one of Norways biggest alpine resorts, I enjoyed 3 years of education and skiing at the academy.

After finishing the school I was a part of the Norwegian Europe-Cup team. Most of the year we where traveling all over Europe for training and racing. I enjoyed the life as a skier, and within a couple of years it was my job, I was a professional.

The last couple of seasons I have been skiing every discipline in the World Cup. I have reached a high level overall, but I have still to be on the podium. This year I will put more energy into the slalom discipline to strengthen my chances for the slalom and super-combi events.
