Love and hate

I know one thing for sure, there is nothing I love the way I love skiing. But there is also nothing that can drive me crazy like this sport does.

The Olympic slalom didn´t turn out as I hoped. With 10 gates to go in the first run I went out. After watching the race on tape I must say that I´m pretty happy with the way I skied up until that point. My run would have put me in a good position in front of the final deciding run. This is what felt worst then and there. I came there to ski and attack both runs, now it was over before finishing the first. But better to go out after attacking then finishing with the handbrake on.

That’s is from this Olympics. Four weeks in Canada has drifted by like a blink of an eye. My performance in these games has not reached my expectations. In both events where I was aiming for the top positions, I failed.

It´s time get back to reality, the World Cup. I am so lucky to compete in a sport that has such a great World Cup. We both make a living, and develop to better skiers at the World Cup tour. World Championships and Olympics is just a bonus. First up is the races is Kvitfjell 6-7march. After intense travelling since October, it´s nice to finally have some races at home. I´ve not done many speed events this season, but I love the track in Kvitfjell, and believe we´ll have a great weekend.
